Increasing Employability Quotient
Increasing Employability Quotient
Arts and Science Edition
In today’s fast changing labour market, where technology breakthroughs and altering industry needs constantly redefine the employment landscape, educational institutions are under increasing stress to provide students with the skills and competencies they need to thrive in their chosen careers. EduforLife is a learning journey, designed precisely to address this need for students who are pursuing their degrees in Arts and Science disciplines.
Described in one line, EduforLife is designed to be an institution led initiative not just to increase the chances of success in securing the first job, but is a strategic choice to prepare students to thrive in their jobs and careers. In essence, EduforLife enhances the employability quotient of the students.

Arts Graduates

Science Graduates

Commerce Graduates
The focus of this edition of EduforLife is for students pursuing their 3 year degree in Arts, Science and Commerce.
While the B.Sc programmes, with their emphasis on scientific and technical subjects, play an important role in preparing students for a variety of job roles across different industries and the B.A degree programs attempt to provide students with a comprehensive education that encourages skills like critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, they still do not support the job demands of today’s market. This EduforLife is that piece of jigsaw puzzle that completes the picture for a job-seeking student.
While we do see an increase in employability of B.Com graduates, there is still scope to support their preparedness.

The Challenge Today
Reality Check

A reality check on education vs employability, however leaves us with a lot to be desired, as seen from authentic data from India Skills Reports, year after year. About half of those who graduate from our colleges and universities are not job-ready.
The changing job market realities necessitate a more specialised and career-focused approach within these disciplines. EduforLife aims at bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application by incorporating new tactics, custom-built learning experiences, and practical work exposures into degree programmes, preparing students to flourish in their chosen industries.
A trend-analysis across disciplines shows the current status of employability in India. (From India Skills Reports, 2015 onwards)
With in-depth research and robust subject matter expertise, EduforLife supports universities and other educational institutions to adapt their degree programmes to meet the changing demands of the market, as traditional career paths go through major change. By implementing comprehensive techniques that close the gap between academic learning and industrial requirements, EduforLife addresses the need to improve employability within B.Sc. and B.A. programmes. This learning journey aims to give Science and Arts graduates a competitive edge to succeed in the job market by aligning application of the curriculum with market trends, by integrating practical experiences, encouraging industrial collaborations, and supporting the development of critical soft skills.
